Instructions for Drying and Curing Silk Paintings
Thank you for attending our abstract silk painting workshop this year
Uncovering and Drying
Tomorrow, you'll need to uncover the Saran Wrap and top plate to start the drying and curing process. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure the best results:
Remove the Saran Wrap and top plate gently.
Allow the silk to dry completely before removing the salt.
The salt should easily brush off once the silk is dry.
If the salt sticks in parts, it is likely due to the paint encapsulating it. Removing the salt in this state could remove the paint as well.
Curing Process
After the initial drying, it's important to allow the silk paint to cure properly. Here are the steps for the curing process:
Let the silk paint cure for 30 days before displaying your artwork.
Keep the painted silk in a dry, dust-free environment during the curing period.
Avoid touching or handling the silk excessively to prevent any damage to the paint.
By following these instructions, you will ensure that your abstract silk painting remains vibrant and intact for years to come. Thank you once again for your participation and dedication to the art of silk painting. We look forward to seeing your beautiful creations displayed!
